The Happy Potter is een kleine studio die ruimte biedt aan creativiteit. Het biedt een comfortabele ruimte voor 6 studenten.
We zorgen voor een omgeving waarin mensen zich goed en thuis kunnen voelen, Ontspanning is de basis om goed met klei te kunnen werken en ideeën en gevoelens om te zetten in je eigen creaties.
Door de persoonlijke benadering van de docent kunnen mensen van verschillend niveau aansluiten, of je daadwerkelijk technieken en vaardigheden onder de knie wilt krijgen om je kunst op een hoger plan te brengen, of dat het je gaat om het uitoefenen van een hobby.
Dit bereiken we door kleinere groepen en langere sessies. We streven naar een balans tussen onderwijs en oefening. Deze omstandigheden geven ook de gelegenheid voor de studenten om even de beslommeringen van die dag van zich af te schudden. Door de kundigheid en flexibiliteit van de docent wordt er les gegeven op maat.
The Happy Potter is a small studio that offers space for creativity. It offers comfortable space for 6 students.
We ensure an environment in which people can feel good and at home. Relaxation is the basis for working effectively with clay and to convert ideas and emotions into your own creations.
Because of the personal approach of the teacher, people of different levels can join in, whether you truly want to master techniques and skills to take your art to a higher level, or that you want to exercise a hobby.
We achieve this through smaller groups and longer sessions. We strive for a balance between teaching and practice. These circumstances also give the opportunity for students to shake off the worries of that day. Through the expertise and the flexibility of the teacher, the lessons are tailor-made.
Courses and workshops
10 Weekse Cursus
De basis voor deze cursus is de techniek van het draaien, afdraaien, versieren en glazuren.
Wanneer je dit voldoende onder controle hebt dan kan je in overleg met de docent je eigen doelen stellen en maak je gezamenlijk een plan om dit te behalen.
De grootte van een groep is maximaal 6 studenten
De lessen vinden plaats op een vast tijdstip in de week. Iedere les duurt 3 uur.
De cursus kost € 400 per persoon
(Dit is inclusief 2 kg gestookt en geglazuurd werk. Daarna wordt €10 per kg in rekening gebracht)
10 Week Course
The basis of this course is the technique of throwing, trimming, decorating and glazing.
When you’ve mastered this sufficiently you can set your own goals in consultation with the teacher. Together you will make a plan to achieve this.
A group has a maximum of 6 students.
The lessons take place on a set time in the week. Each lesson is 3 hours.
The costs of this course are € 400 per person.
(This includes 2 kg of fired and glazed work. Work after this is charged at €10 per kg)
Kinderfeestje
Dit is een leuk pottenbakkersfeestje voor kinderen op de draaischijf (onder de 8 jaar kan de draaischijf moeilijk zijn, dan bieden we handopbouw aan).
De kinderen krijgen chips en iets te drinken
De werkjes worden na het feestje gebakken en kunnen later opgehaald worden.
Kinderfeestjes vinden plaats op woensdagmiddag, zaterdag of zondag
Het feestje duurt anderhalf uur.
De groep is maximaal 7 kinderen
De kosten zijn € 225 per feestje
Children’s Party
This is a fun clay party for children on the wheel (under 8 years the wheel might be hard to do, then we offer hand building).
The children get crisps and something to drink
Their work will be fired after the party and can be picked up later.
Children’s parties will take place on Wednesday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday.
The party takes 1,5 hours and the group size is max. 7 children.
The costs are € 225 per party
Workshop Handopbouw
Als je iets wilt maken zonder de draaischijf te gebruiken dan zijn er vele technieken waarbij dit mogelijk is, met handopbouw.
Je kan Ringenpotten (opbouw met rollen), Duimpotten (opbouw met je vingers) of potten met plakken maken. Met deze prehistorische technieken kan je ook andersoortige vormen maken dan met de draaischijf. Met handopbouw is de relatie tussen mens en klei volledig; een leuke ervaring voor jezelf en met je vrienden/collega’s.
Van tevoren wordt met de deelnemers besproken wat voor object ze willen maken.
Per workshop wordt maar één techniek geleerd.
De datum en tijd van een workshop wordt door The Happy Potter afgestemd met de deelnemers.
Een groep heeft minimaal 4 en maximaal 6 deelnemers.
De workshop duurt 3 uur.
De kosten zijn € 80 per persoon
Workshop Hand Building
If you like to make something without using the wheel, there a many techniques where this is possible, with hand building. You can make coiled pots, slab pots or pinch pots. With these prehistorical techniques you can also make other shapes than what you make on the wheel. With han building the relation between you and clay is complete; a special experience for yourself and with your friends or colleagues.
Beforehand it will be discussed with the participants what objects they want to make.
In a workshop only one technique will be taught.
The date and time of a workshop will be coordinated by The Happy Potter with the participants.
A group has a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 participants.
The workshop is 3 hours.
The costs of the workshop are € 80 per person.

Als je iets wilt maken zonder de draaischijf te gebruiken dan zijn er vele technieken waarbij dit mogelijk is, met handopbouw.

Deze workshop is een ontspannen en creatieve ervaring. Ook zeer leuk om te beleven samen met vrienden. Dit is voor velen een goede eerste kennismaking met pottenbakken.
Pak de kans om je eigen kom of schaal te maken met behulp van een draaischijf. Daarna ga je twee door jou gekozen werkjes schilderen. Je kunstwerken worden later afgebakken en het resultaat is binnen een maand voor jou.
De datum en tijd van een workshop wordt door The Happy Potter afgestemd met de deelnemers.
Een groep heeft minimaal 4 en maximaal 6 deelnemers.
De workshop duurt 3 uur.

Workshop Throwing
This workshop is a relaxed and creative experience. Also really fun to do with friends. For many this is the first real encounter with pottery.
Take your chance to make your own bowl on the wheel. After that you can decorate two bowls of your choice. Your art work will be fired afterwards and the result will be yours within a month.
The date and time of a workshop will be coordinated by The Happy Potter with the participants.
A group has a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 participants.
The workshop is 3 hours.
The costs of the workshop are € 80 per person.

Who is the happy potter
Victoria heeft een achtergrond in kunstopleidingen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk (Arts University Bournemouth; West Thames College Foundation Art and Design, London). Keramiek had altijd al haar speciale interesse. Deze kunstvorm heeft zij verder ontwikkeld toen zij zich in Nederland vestigde. Ondertussen heeft ze 15 jaar ervaring als keramiekdocent in Den Haag en creëert zij haar eigen kunstwerken.
Victoria heeft The Happy Potter opgericht in februari 2024 toen zij een helder beeld gevormd had van haar stijl van lesgeven. Naast het onderrichten van technieken volgens een lesplan vind zij het even belangrijk dat mensen zich kunnen uiten. Creativiteit is de basis, en techniek is de wijze waarop je de klei omzet in jouw eigen unieke creaties.
Victoria geeft richting aan jouw eigen pad naar zelfexpressie. Haar benadering is open, vriendelijk en geduldig. Haar aanpak is professioneel, realistisch en doelgericht.
Victoria has a background in art education in the United Kingdom (Arts University Bournemouth; West Thames College Foundation Art and Design, London). Ceramics always had her special interest. She further developed this art form after she settled in The Netherlands. Meanwhile she has 15 years of experience as a ceramic teacher in The Hague and creates her own artwork.
Victoria founded The Happy Potter in February 2024 after she formed a clear idea of her style of teaching. Next to teaching techniques according to a lesson plan she finds it equally important that students can express themselves. Creativity is the basis, and technique is the way you convert clay into your own unique creations.
Victoria gives direction in your own path to self expression. Her approach is open, friendly and patient. Her handling is professional, realistic and goal-oriented.
